White Lotus Aromatics has benzoin Siam absolute tinctured in 50%

ethanol. It is Styrax tonkinensis from Laos and it is totally

liquified. Would that work for you? I don't know if you would want

any alcohol in your blend. It smells strongly of benzoin and faintly of

alcohol. Just a suggestion.

I use benzion in topical applications and mine is also very thick, almost a

resin.

BY warming it over steam, I then am able to add it to other essential oils,

where it stays in solution at room temp before adding base oils.

But do check your percentages... or it wont work.

I've found that high-proof alcohol is the best way to liquefy benzoin.

190 proof is best, as that will ensure more mixing possibilities with

other materials... but benzoin will also mostly dissolve in 151 proof

bacardi rum which is more widely available. You can also purchase

benzoin essential oil, which I assume is steam-distilled from the

resinoid. If you can track down the essential oil, you can mix it

with carrier oils -- you won't necessarily be limited to alcohol

applications. Good luck!
