For me it would have to be labdanum, jasmine, and petitgrain sur fleur, though I admit it was very tough to decide. I'm talking about for perfume purposes only. For me it would be jasmine grandi, non-cruelty animal, or antique animal essences (not an old animal, old stock of essences, lol - like my ancient castoreum or civet tinctures) and citrus - any citrus. -- Anya Anya's Garden http://AnyasGarden.com - perfumes, aromatics, classes, consultation Natural Perfumers Guild + blog with daily updates 1500+ member Natural Perfumery group - /

I too would have put ambergris but I thought that might not be considered an essence.
Guest guest
Mine would be vetiver, white lotus and ginger CO2, although I'm not sure I'd even call them my favorite or my most used! But, I'm working on a blend right now that contains those, so maybe that's why they're on my mind. I'm sure my answer would be different on another day! Rose Citron Jasmine I am graduating today from a program at Berkeley Community Media to produce TV programs for this Non Profit organization (others there should be community media in your area). If anyone is interested in doing a piece and you live close to Berkeley, CA please contact me off line. I think the community would benefit from the discussions we would profer on real vs. Synths for a start, a much needed dialogue Of course I think Anya should fly out to be the interviewer, or she could get someone to start a mini DV digital piece and send it to me as well as Janita and whoever is interested. This could maybe lead to a PBS special. You know I am a dreamer but the world is in trouble and you guys need more information spreading to help people wade through this transition. We could start with Mandy Aftel and Jeanne Rose, leading locals, if they are interested. The ©=copyright will be given to each individual and can be compressed to use on your web site. Though not as incredible as the smell of actual orange blossoms showering the air with their perfume. Gut wrenchingly beautiful.

Congratulations on graduating, have some cake and champagne and a good sniff or two of your favorite aromatics and perfumes. You've been on the group a long time, contributing and musing away, and I had no idea you had the TV thing going on the side. Oh, I'm a lousy interviewer. I like to talk, though ;-) I really want to start to make mini videos on aspects of NP, but that's after I master blogcasts. It's on my list! I'll write you privately with my phone number and we can talk. -- Anya Anya's Garden http://AnyasGarden.com - perfumes, aromatics, classes, consultation Natural Perfumers Guild + blog with daily updates 1500+ member Natural Perfumery group - /

For me, if I were stuck on a desert island and could only have three essences, it would have to be fir bud, honey, and labdanum. Man, that was hard -- I so wanted rose, and vanilla, and jasmine too... What a fun thread! Cheers! Andrine
