A friend of mine, Maura, has children who are affected by both ASD and Mitochondrial Disease. I wanted to share what an individual parent decided to boldly do in the face of adversity. Maura is currently a UMASS Medical School/LEND student and this is her thesis project due this spring (Autism and co-morbidities: the impact on family, and the implications in education).
