Hi ListMom, List....

Been waiting for this.....I think you covered alla the bases....

I'm a little unclear about carriers....

I wonder.....is fractionated coconut oil a natural carrier, or is

the fractioning process a syn involved process.....I honestly am not

sure....and the paper scrupulously avoids mentioning FC....And that's a

very common diluent in the industry....

Or....is that one them deals that is evolving.....

In my take, FC is the vastly superior product as

carrier/diluent......and if I'd hafta define what oil things I do as

" exotic natural fragrance in fractionated coconut oil " , so be it....

OTOH, I do alky mostly anyway...

Other than this.....

It's about time.....Folks are ready for this methinks....

How one creates a self regulating industry, is beyond my ken....I'm just

too bloody cynical....<G>....

I realize that having a self regulating process hopefully will keep the

Government(s) at bay....

The diamond industry set up such a system ( Process) not too

long ago.....regarding blood diamond....That was something they had

happily overlooked in the past as long as the rough was nice...

What was going on was horror story stuff....

Put it this way.....in the 90's, between 1 in 20 to 1 in 4 (depending on

whose figures you look at) of the better quality diamonds had blood on

them...

The diamond industry resisted until international political pressures

(through the efforts of NGO's) grew......

We all know about the fight that Tony Burfield is carrying in the

EU.....it's only a matter of time before similar stuff comes US way, if

it's not already in the works.....

BTW.... Hey Tony, where's that *PAYPAL LINK* so's I can send Cropwatch a

donation.....<G>...???

I'd like to think we could be a little further on the curve than the

diamond moguls...

AFAIK, fractionating coconut oil is distilling it.

Hi Adam, List....

I did some prowling......

Apparently you do hydrolysis to coconut oil, and then distill it....This

results in the stuff containing basically only the MCT's (medium chain

triglycerides)....and gives it it's desirable properties....
