Guest guest
Hi All, I've been luking, and reading the facinating posts, as I've had a miserable head/chest cold that's dragged on for weeks stuffing up my nose and completely incapacitating my fragrance pursuits. Sigh. But in the past few days I've been feeling better and working a bit with an orange/vanilla blend that I want to use in a bath soak. The problem is since the citrus is so light - it dissipates in seconds in the steam leaving me with a hot bath, which is still nice, but not much else. I've orederd some Moringa oil to try and stabilize the fragrance a bit, but I was wondering if anyone has any other suggesstions for a fixative? TIA! Cheers, http://healmyhands.typepad.com/heal_my_life/

Cheers, http://healmyhands.typepad.com/heal_my_life/ Hi ..... citrus .... notoriously whisp like and gone in a short time LOL ... and in a bath with the steam even more so. LOL..... fixing orange.... hmm.... well my immediate thought .. .. are you using a dispersant for it to absorb seamlessly into the bath?.... This is made from a modified vegetable oil . It also leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturised. It does not leave a slippery, oily residue in the bath. that would help.... if you have varieties..... you could combine the different ones to boost the orangeyness... ie bitter, sweet, blood, and the new orange distilled. together perhaps to add nuancey levels to the orange .....or try different families like .. orange, tangerine, mandarin together to give levels... BTW Moringa lovely oil... remember it has a slight nutty aroma.. albeit slight.... why moringa for bath? Traditionally the oil of choice by the ancient sumerians for perfume..... I am not sure of its properties for using in bath... perhaps someone else can chime in here :-) Hope your head cold gets better... sympathise.... we are suffering here in Wales with similar and it has been going on for over a week now.... very boring !!! Really drags one down.... anyway hope the above gives food for thought... Guest guest
Why not use some Lavandin in the bath to get rid of that head cold! Blends well with citrus oils, too. Hangs around a little bit longer than the citrtus and helps open the breathing pipes and kill those virus germs.
