Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well we have the builders in at last! As part of the work we are having done we want to create a toxic free bedroom for . So we have ordered an organic bed and bedding. We are using the paint from healthy house, we will be careful where we put sockets etc but I am struggling with flooring. I don’t want to use cork because I don’t think it will withstand , carpet is not practical and so want to get oak or hard wood flooring. Is buying untreated oak enough and then varnish myself, or is there something better? Also does anyone know of safe glue to use to stick the flooring down? Thanks Elaine
Guest guest
You can get floating wood flooring that doesn't have to be glued? The finish should be oil rather than varnish. What about real linoleum? Margaret > > Hi Diane, > > Do you think it is suitable for a toxic free bedroom? Guest guest
Hi we had our wood flooring nailed down - the chippy thought that I was very strange not letting him use any glue! Also did in Charlie's bedroom and changed the skirting boards ( lead paint underneath and they always get chipped. Guest guest
Not sure about flooring. We are wondering about it ourselves - and thinking - " does it really matter? " Anyway. You could treat with linseed or teak oil, or wax with pure beeswax - find a beekeeper. Depending if you have wooden floor joists or a solid concrete floor, you could nail the flooring down to the floor joists. Miles. Guest guest
I want to replace my wooden flooring with Karndean - I'm led to believe it won't get scratch like real wood - so great for kids and pets. flooring Hi everyone, Well we have the builders in at last! Guest guest
Works great for us. Very easy to clean, doesn't scratch easily. Guest guest
We have laminate floors in most of the house and tile on the rest. We got rid of all the carpet (which was ruined by my w/c) about a year ago. We love it! Sent from my Verizon BlackBerry flooring Hi all, Does any one here have laminate floors and is it ok with wheelchair use?
