Guest guest
HI all, Just wanted to let you know that I decanted some of the 12 year old wild yam root. It's pretty wonderful. The first hit is very smokey. There is a sweetish starchy heart note (after the alcohol flash) that renders down to a deep vetivery finish. Yum. I also have some dandelion root. This is also a hint of smoke on the top, with some tannins and finishing with a mid-range green smell, like looking at the sun through the dandelion root real close to the ground, and smelling the greeny earthy light. That's the best (and admittedly synesthesiac) description I have for this one. I'm not real thrilled with the alchohol notes, but I'll work with them. Overall, I would have to say I prefer the oil infusions, but we'll see. That's the next year's project... I think that these can be some wonderful basenotes...let's see what else is in the garden... My lilac tincturing was interrupted by the weather this year, but it's stored in a cool place, and I will resume next season. The wild honeysuckle oil infusion is coming along nicely, and there are various roses I'm playing with, in the oil. I have some lavender from last year....hmmmmmmm All around me are forest fires, and the smoke wafts through as well, so it's not a good day to blend perfumes. I'm just thinking about what I'll do when the fires go out...Ma'shallah...
