Guest guest
Howdy Woody, Kathy .. other good folks .. This reply is also an advertisement .. and today is Thursday. ;-) Accordingly, I'll mention that neither the List Mom nor any of her helpers gain anything should someone decide to try my products as a result of this post. I guarantee quality and satisfaction and have close to 14 years of credibility at stake when I make this statement. wrote: >> The world of natural essences is really a body of esoteric >> knowledge.... I'll agree with the above but of the many terms available, I prefer to use a different meaning for the term " esoteric " when it comes to EO. I prefer to interpret it as not being a positive .. but rather an incorrect perception of reality and acceptance of unscientific data based on following the norms of the group one is involved with. To rephrase, its something like belief in the Emperor's New Clothes. >> I was in a grocery store once that was selling aromarings for light >> bulbs.... >> >> Their rose, lavender, sandalwood, and cinnamon " oil " was all the >> same price.....very inexpensive.... >> >> From the looks of the stock left in the display, they were doing >> very well.... >> >> I'm not being nasty here, but a general axiom to apply to all >> things in life is: >> >> If it's too good to be true, it probably ain't..... >> W. Bourbonais >> L'Hermite Aromatique >> A.J.P. (GIA) And I agree with on the above .. except I will change " probably ain't " to rarely is. If one does not know what the normal pricing range is and they have been dealing with extremely high priced sellers (like Young Living) then they might think they are getting a bargain but that's like saying getting kicked in the shin is a better deal than getting a poke in the eye. In any industry there will be those who have a guaranteed to not rust, bust or collect dust offer and at times they will even double that offer if you call now. I have been monitoring dozens of News Groups for years now .. rarely post on them .. just read. From time to time I see someone come up with such a fantastic offer for EO and the unknowing jump on it like a duck on a June Bug. What is even worse is that many of them are satisfied with their purchase. I see some of the offers as being out and out larceny because in some cases the cost of the product is LESS than cost of production .. and there are no Mama Theresa's selling EO. > Hi All, > > I did contact this seller and had a reply this morning, and here is > the reply, > ------------------------------------------------------------ > HI > I do not do testing myself, but the rose was obtained from probably > my most reliable supplier. Obviously this sellers explanation is lame .. at best. His/her most reliable supplier? > Its aroma is comparable with other rose absolutes we have tried from > different sources so I am not sure how you believe it is being cut > way down unless that is what everyone is doing. Woody .. we just completed sending out Turkish Rose Absolute orders to over 120 folks .. it was a quick sale of a 12 kilo batch I obtained a month or so ago. Some buyers are members of this News Group. I am not seeking kudos now .. but I do invite any negative comments if there are any out there. The point of the above statement is that I have confidence in the product and I am inviting pretty knowledgeable folks to post contrary if they are not satisfied. I have customers in 50 states and 87 other countries and I would guess that roughly half of them are pretty savvy folks when it comes to EO ... and when one deals with such folks they must have their ducks in line because one " aw crap " can wipe out 10 " attaboys " . I am confident that the majority of professional dealers operate as I do .. so why would someone want to go on E-bay or some other nonprofessional site and order a costly EO? Some folks who sell products are not necessarily con artists .. they just are not knowledgeable of what they sell .. but be it intent to deceive or deception through ignorance the result is the same. > The entire list of oils you purchased came from 7 different > suppliers. Sounds great .. but I doubt it. I don't believe there is a major source of EO in the USA or abroad that I am not unaware of and I can guarantee that NONE of them can offer products for prices that would allow resale at such low prices. > You can return them for a full refund. I'll give the seller some credit for this statement. > Sincerely > Anya mentioned requesting samples. Dang good suggestion this is. It has always been my policy to offer 5 free samples with each order ... and if I think the customer deserves more I provide more .. my call this is and its based on a number of things .. to include how I am feeling at the time. ;-) If someone makes a ridiculously small order and wants more samples I will follow our policy of charging 60 cents for samples #6 and onward. I will also provide 5 free samples without an order .. buyer pays the actual cost of shipping. Offering free samples is a part of my devious marketing plan .. and it does work. Any Oil I sell I will provide as a sample .. in the short term its a loss for me but not in the long term. You asked if the public could be so misinformed about price vs quality of EO. I think you have already answered the question. Not a week passes that I don't get an e-mail from some buyer saying that one of my oils is extremely low priced so is it adulterated .. or .. one of my oils is extremely high priced and why am I asking such a price. The answer to both questions is that my oils are not over or under priced - they are priced fairly and in accordance with international standards. I must look at international standards because half of my business is international sales. > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > To have a look at his store, > http://search.ebay.com.au/_W0QQsassZwholesale_essential_oil Couple of comments there ... The prices posted are less than one can offer such oils even if they purchase a minimum of 10 kilos per oil .. the 1 oz purchase price in such a circumstance will exceed the posted sale price .. and in many cases the sale prices posted are FAR LESS than production costs. The 4 oz price of Kazanlik Rose Absolute offered is totally ridiculous. There is no producer who can offer such a price direct from his production facility. My one oz cost for a 12 kilogram buy was 600% more than his 4 oz selling price and I got a major discount from my source because I have been dealing with him since 1995 and have bought more than a million bucks worth of products from him in that time. > As you will see the prices are good, but I think his suppliers may be > leading him up the garden path. This person is not a professional dealer of natural products .. they don't mention the Botanical name of the product .. not the Origin. Origin is as important when dealing with EO as is brand name when purchasing a major appliance .. or an automobile. If one wants to get their money's worth they must spend time looking at the pricing norms of the market. High prices rarely mean higher quality but extremely low prices always mean low quality. Prices that are higher than market norm usually indicate that the seller has not done sufficient marketing research .. or .. they depend on a small group of followers to purchase their products. In the last case one will normally find a person operating out of their kitchen .. they have no overhead and even if they sell but $300 worth of product a week they can realize a $150 profit. So .. shop around and learn the prices .. and request samples from me and 3 or 4 other sellers like me. Don't look for bargains .. there are no bargains on commodities - essential oils are just another commodity that are priced based on an international norm. Folks who have been using EO for years are not being dumbed down but those who are beginning to use them have just not wised up yet .. they will wise up in time and hopefully their lessons learned will be as painless as possible.
