Hi Everyone:

I wanted to do this on June 1st, the second anniversary of the Natural

Perfumers Guild, but then I wanted to have the new website for the Guild

ready then, too, and well, that won't happen for some time yet. Web

designers are like any artist, like a perfumer, even, and you just can't

rush artistry, lol.

Also, it's been a *long* time since I mentioned the membership in the

Guild mostly because I was so busy with administrative and legislative

matter that I just needed a breather from the paperwork side of things.

There are several new members on board, but I want to wait a bit before

I update the website, since the new website will only require a

duplication of the effort.

With the assistance of my great bookkeeper and office manager Ileana, I

can now again open the Guild up for new members and also offer $10 off

the yearly membership fee to new members. The slight lag time in posting

your name, or the name of your company on the website is another reason

for the discount, so take advantage of my slow web designer while you

can ;-)

There are a lot of benefits that come with being in the Guild, including:

- Being a part of the community originally founded by Mandy Aftel to

further the cause of natural perfumery by educating the public,

providing a helpful network of like-minded artists and businesspeople,

and fostering those who wish to become natural perfumers.

- Knowing that the Guild is working to protect your rights to use

natural aromatics. Several governments are working to limit our access

to, or make the requirements for use very difficult, and the Guild,

partnered with other organizations, such as Cropwatch has take a dynamic

lead in challenging these limitations.

- Obtaining discounts on raw materials such as essential oils and other

aromatics, classes, books and other related materials. The Guild has a

Trademark Attorney and Graphic Artist and other professionals that will

also offer discounts - besides the obvious discounts from many of the

perfumers on full bottles or samples!

- Membership in the Guild-only group where you can ask questions

of other Guild members and just chat if you wish.

- All Guild membership categories (except Enthusiast) can display the

gorgeous Guild logo on their website, business cards and other printed

material.

- If a group within the Guild organizes themselves as to a date, there

is a standing offer from Prodarom, the Grasse Institute of Perfumery in

France that is fantastic:

PRODAROM CLASSES

Prodarom in Grasse, France has made a very generous offer to the Guild

members. Their usual fee for the one week naturals course is $1090,

materials, breaks and lunches included. Their offer is:

Individual Student 10% discount

or:

Group of 12-16 Students $10,500. This works out to between $656 to

$875/student, depending on attendance. Additionally, they will

accommodate OUR schedules and arrange for lodging discounts. For the

I'll have a list of Guild discounts - those that the members offer other

members - next week. Anytime I ask a member if they're recouped their

yearly fee by taking advantage of the Guild discounts, I get a yes!
