Guest guest
Hi ,this is a great article, lots of helpful suggestions. I think,to some extent,we all have a problem with family members not understanding our pain and inability to perform what, in their minds,is not difficult. Don is very good about doing things for me and helping with housework but he still makes comments ie when I tried to open the door to let the dog in,I couldn't so I called him and he said " all you had to do was turn the handle " . The look I gave him said it all. Another instance is when I go out with one particular friend, she gets out of the car and walks as fast as she can toward the mall, then looks surprised when she turns and sees me slowly making my way. Sometimes I believe our RA is just an annoyance to others and we just have to keep trying to educate people to help them understand what this disease is all about. It is so cruel when those that are supposed to care about us make unkind remarks. I really don't think anyone does it maliciously, they just don't get it!
