Even though I was seeing progress in measurements and how i felt, I was letting the scale dictate my mood. Hang in there and just take it one day at a time! I think 40lbs is definitely doable!! How tall are you? You CAN do this!! G. Guest guest
I lost 22 lbs in 24 weeks. This put me slightly below ideal weight. I know I gained at least 5 lbs of muscle during the process, so I'd say fat loss was close to 30 lbs. Pinkribbon

Guest guest
I started strong from being a powerlifter and heavy because us powerlifters love to eat. I lost 17 pounds in my first challenge. Currently, 14 of the 17 is still off. I¹m trying to get a total of another 35 off for my knees. I¹m in constant pain and my Doctor has recommended weight loss followed by surgery. I think your goals are totally realistic even with an injury. Your brain needs to say ³This injury is not going to beat me². I¹ve played sports for years, hard core sports like soccer and rugby where injured players aren¹t respected. The culture there was to play through unless it was broken. Life on the team moved forward without you if you were hurt and I didn¹t like being on the outside, so I¹d ³play through² a lot of serious injuries. I finished a rugby game with broken ribs one time because we didn¹t have a substitute. The discussion with my Dr. went like this: If I tell you to lay off will you? Nope. If I tell you what to do will you at least do that? Yep. Now I realize the rest of the world doesn¹t have that tick, and it¹s not necessarily a healthy approach. I now view injuries as challenges. If I can¹t figure out my way around them, I¹ll keep coming at it until I get it. Whatever they¹re having you do in PT, do more of in the gym. Ask them what upper body exercises are okay and work on them. A good PT knows the answer to those questions for your situation and will appreciate you wanting to work harder towards your healing. Kick up your cardio and use cardio for any time missed on the upper body workouts. Another words if the sum total of everything you can possible do with your shoulder is 20 minutes add 25 minutes of cardio and abs to the end of that workout to equal a 45 minutes high intensity workout. And ice, ice, ice. It takes 30 minutes to chill a shoulder. You should ice down that shoulder at least three times a day. That¹s not fun if it¹s cold in your house like it is in mine, but you have to do it. You¹re not the first person to get injured and won¹t be the last, but you can be the woman that wasn¹t beaten by a shoulder injury. Guest guest
Val, I am curious if you have ever Googled for information on arm wrestling as a competitive sport? I think you would blow them away, and save your knees for years ahead. Just something to look into. The prize money is nothing to sneeze at.
