Dear friends,

I am now in Alabama! Ed brought me, my oxygen concentrator,

and my portable unit down from IL last Thursday. We also

brought the computer, stereo equipment and a minimum of

clothes and meds (ya know the ESSENTIALS -for both of us!!!)

It has been a hectic week, with trying to work out schedules

so we could do things here in the mobile home as well as

spend time with each of the grandchildren ( 7,

Brittany 5, and 3). I did find out that my eyesight

is MUCH worse when I get myself overtired... so that, too,

was a learning experience.

This morning (my son-in-love) and Ed left in the JEEP

to go back to Chicago. They will finish the packing, return the

cable equipment (no such thing down here where we live now,

anyway), get a Penski truck and a tow dolly (for the car)

and then take turns driving the JEEP and the truck - bringing

all our " earthly belongings " here to our new home! They should

be back here by Sunday evening... and then comes the task

of UNPACKING and organizing - but I will have my beautiful

daughter to help.. and I am sure WILLING grandchildren, as

well!

home schools the children, and Ed and I are going

to try to help.. even if it is just to give her some " one on one "

time with each of the children. I have gotten 4 sets of " letters "

that stick to the ref. and have started to work with SOUNDS

with Brittany, and IDENTIFICATION with Josh.. It is as much

fun for me as for them!!

The fibro has flared a bit.. been a " good girl " and taken the

Darvon and it is " calming down " . Got to work on the diabetes

control, (which means MAKING TIME TO TEST - decreasing

FOOD - losing weight, etc.) My COPD is ok as long as I

stay on the oxygen (even when I don't think that I need it!!!!)

has made me an appointment with a diabetic eye

specialist for Mar 4. She has already spoken with the nurses

there.. RN to RN. Then, I have an appointment with an

internal med specialist then a pulmonologist the afternoon of

the 4th. IF I CAN get clearance for surgery, the eye doctors

will do my right cataract the week of Mar 11.. and then, if the

other one is " ready " , do it 4 weeks later. Right now, I am

seeing everything double, because the eyeglass prescription

has changed, and the right cataract is so bad, and THAT

plus the move is why I've been so " quiet " lately.

I AM reading most of the posts to the lists, and thinking

about all of you - even when I don't post....

Take care all..

elaine
