What is Mobic? Mobic (meloxicam) is an NSAID (non-steroidal

anti-inflammatory drug), specifically a COX-2 inhibitor, and works

similarly to the way other better-known drugs in its class - Celebrex

(celecoxib) and Vioxx (rofecoxib) - do.

Thanks for the explantion on mobic. I hadn't heard of it. I was on Vioxx

for about a year and a half. Worked great the first year. Then my doctor

took me off for a year because of an elevated liver enzyme. (Alkalase

phosphatase, I think). I can't believe I know this stuff, by the way. I was

back on it for maybe 6 months or so just before I started the prednisone and

methotrexate. 12.5 ml worked great that first year. 25 ml didn't work as

well this year as the 12.5 ml worked back then. I tried 50 ml a couple of

time. Worked pretty good. My primary care physician about came unglued when

I told her. Apparently the side effects at the dosage can be very serious.

Sigh....

Thanks for the links.
