Guest guest
Hi Elly, Believe it or not, I lived in Destin for several years. Now I'm about 60 miles west. We had such an warm winter (pretty much through December) I had forgotten how much my pain can be tied to the weather! My rheumatologist asked me at my first appointment if I had times when I hurt more than others. At the time I shrugged, seemed to me I hurt pretty much all the time. WRONG! At my next appointment in January, I answered his question again, yes, I hurt more when it is cold, rainy and humid! Yuck. While I share your fear of gaining weight, at this point in my life, prednisone has turned out to be a " miracle " medicine. I just feel so darn good most of the time. I'm wondering if the methrotrexate will ever work as well without the prednisone. Suzanne Hi Mindy, Suzanne and everybody! Just a comment from the peanut gallery (WA State!), I used to live in Columbus GA (fr 1986-1990) and visited Destin, Fl twice and loved it. Do you live near Destin, Suzanne? Boy do I wish I lived somewhere WARM, like you! WA State this time of year is the pits (most days!). It's cold, rainy and damp, just the weather that makes me hurt all over!! Now, back to the topic at hand, the one drug I won't go on (unless it's eye drops) is prednisone - I'm already about 45 lbs overweight and I won't risk any more weight gain! I 'll try everything else, first! Guest guest
Oh lucky you, Suzanne! Destin has the most beautiful white sandy beaches! I miss them! We have very rocky beaches here in most of WA State, except down by you, Rainy Sue!! LOL! Hawaii sounds like a plan (or sunny Meh-hee-ko!!) LOL! Have as pain free a day as you all can!! Guest guest
Well Suzanne, We're pratically neighbors...I live in Meridian, MS which is about 130 miles north of Mobile, AL. And we too have had a mild winter for the most part. But cold does definitely effect RA, if I get chilled I can feel myself getting stiff and achey. It's raining here tonight and will be some cooler, but not real cold. Be Blessed, Becky
Guest guest
Hi neighbor! Did you get all that nasty weather yesterday? We started with high winds, thought the door to my car was going to be torn off by the wind! Then we had torrential rains (of course during the lunch hours), and finally ended up with sun the last several hours of the work day. Weird! Guest guest
The cold DEFINITELY affects me. I'm a different person in the winter than I am in the summer. I dream of the day I can move to sunny Florida! a Suzanne wrote: > Hi Elly, > > Believe it or not, I lived in Destin for several years. Now I'm about 60 > miles west.
