Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I usually don't get reactions to meds, but I was very unhappy with Kineret. First, they are daily injections. Next, the inj. were very painful for me. It felt like I was injecting acid into myself. It burned a lot. Then there were the hives or welts or whatever you want to call it. They were blood red, itchy and painful. They completely covered my belly from above belly button down to pubic area and covering my thighs also. I couldn't stand to have clothes on or to have anything touch it. I thought I would go nuts trying not to scratch. A couple of times, I would hold a bandage over it because it was so bright red that I thought that I was bleeding. I also had some nausea and headaches, but that may have come from other meds too. This was my experience. It may not happen with you. Every body is different. I would say to give it a try if it is offered. It may be the one for you. It just wasn't for me. You can find out more about Kineret at Kineretrx.com. There is a lot of info on this site and you can even have a nurse call you if you want. I do hope that you find success in your treatment. Guest guest
Hi Stacey, Thank you for the information. I want to know as much about this as I can. I wanted to go back to remicade but the Rheumy will not do it. I am prone to serious infections and he just won't let me do it again. I am willing to try it though but I will listen to him. That is why he mentioned this drug. Hope you are having a good day. Again thanks. ---------- > From: staceycrwfrd@... > > Subject: Re: [ ] Kineret info > Date: Tuesday, April 02, 2002 11:26 AM > > Hi Lynn, > I usually don't get reactions to meds, but I was very unhappy with Kineret. > First, they are daily injections.
