Guest guest
sheri, i am sorry you are having such a rough time. my husband used to have seizures, they were horrible. i feel for you. i did apply for food stamps last year before i got social security. i was $30 over every month and did not qualify. i always wondered why they couldn't take $30 off the $238 a month i would have gotten if i was $30 poorer. but i got through that time by going to the food pantry. when i got my social security. i did stock up and have had a good stock of food around. i have also paid all of my heating bills on my own this year. i did not apply even though i probably could have. i am not a saver. never taught. was raised having what i want when i want it. i didn't know that was why my parents had to work so hard and so long. they never showed me their money struggles. teach your kids. they need to know!!!!! i am trying to have my son sign up for a savings acct where everytime he makes a deposit $10 will go to savings. he is just as bad as me. paycheck comes and is gone same day. he does pay his bills and gas that $30 tank every week!!!! i know i kinda went off here, sorry!!!! better go take a shower. better be ready for the jeers from the guys moving the mobile home on the lot across the street. i guess they were trying to park it there yesterday, but i had my son park his car in front of the empty lot so his grandma could park in front of our house. then she took us out for dinner!!!! they almost towed his car. but just parked the house elsewhere. they called me and asked me to make sure it was moved today!!! kathy in il

Guest guest
Dear Kathy, It may or may not help to know you are not alone. Right now you are helping me. What small amount of money I had is now gone. How I pay the rest of bills this month, move, or even feed my child next week is a big question. You know you try to find peace from it all when you are sleeping, but you wake up or in my case have seizures while sleeping only to wake and know it is all still here. I am going to rid my pride and stick with the words I need help. I am going to contact the people today I know can help me locate a job or the right way in getting one. I have no idea why I am so afraid but I need to rid that. Last year for a few months I was able to get $72.00 a month in food stamps. My cost of living went up but now I get $10.00 a month. Go figure that one. Any help on that end for you. Just know you aren't alone and love and prayers are sent your way today that perhaps just a small amount of serenity will come your way.
