Dear Sheri...you are so right that we can build our own new families. I

know my family of origin really does love me the best they know how...so

I have gradually come to learn not to expect what will not be given.

It's sad, but saves my sanity. I have many other people who are able to

accept me more fully, and I'm grateful.

Sheri I don't think I've mentioned that my 4 children are adopted! (They

are 28, 26, 24 & 22.) The three youngest have varying degrees of

disability from very mild (my youngest), to moderate (my middle daughter

who still lives with me), to more complex (my son has a moderate

learning disability, mild cp, and a mental illness.) My oldest daughter

struggles with depression at times. God bless you for loving your

daughter and cheering her on in this difficult world. I'm with you,

dear Sheri.
