Ah Debs, sorry it's looking like surgery on your spine is in your future. I

hope this last

epidural lasts for a very long time or should I say, forever.

Is your knee any better today? I agree, there never is a good time for these

things to happen.

Your sitting area sounds wonderful! I've been spending a lot more time outside,

and I have to

say it is very helpful. I didn't get the normal wintertime blues this year, but

this winter has been very

mild. I hope you'll be able to get in the pool soon, but until then, it

sounds like you have a nice

haven in your back yard to enjoy.

[ ] Not A Good Day Today

Hi Guys,

Well, I must be on a roll. Went to the spine ortho today and it is too soon

to have another round of epidural injections in my back. He wants to wait

another 2 months, so he will be trying skelaxin until then to see if I get

any relief. He also mentioned, no told me, that these injections have about

run their course of efficacy and it is now time to think about surgery on the

herniated disks. YIKES. Didn't have any plans for that surgery in my

future. He is willing to try this next round but that is about it. In fact,

with the oral prednisone that I take plus what I have been getting in

injections in various joints plus the epidurals, that is a lot of prednisone

going into my battered system already. So he would really rather be talking

surgery, but will give me this last chance to see if I can get a little more

mileage out of the epidural treatment.

We went out and got a sandwich for dinner tonight (actually just happened to

be where Vickie's boyfriend works.....DUH). When I came home and was getting

ready for bed, my right knee went out and I fell, thankfully the bed was

right there and that is what has absorbed most of my fall, but that knee is

so painful right now that even two percocets are not touching the pain. I am

not supposed to see the knee ortho until May 1. Actually, I wasn't having

much success with his first treatment plan anyway and this did not help the

situation. I am afraid that I already know what the next course of action is

going to be. This is not a good time as end of year school trips are coming

up, we are having a big Mother's Day party planned and makes her

confirmation in May. I guess there is never a good time for these things.

On a lighter note, we change time this weekend, so looking forward to being

able to work outside longer (well, not me, but supervising Ron doing the

work). The kids have already been in the pool this week, the weather is so

warm, no spring for us this year. We are in the process of transforming the

little bit of grass left in the backyard into a beautiful sitting area. We

have bought the bubbling fountain and going to buy the benches to place

there. This is all under the " umbrella " of my palm trees so even I can sit

out there and enjoy with no direct sun on me. This weekend we are also

purchasing one of those outdoor fireplaces to put on the deck for cooler (?)

nights and for the kids to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. It will be a

work in progress. I am not going to let this disease or the collapse of my

body stop me from enjoying my surroundings.

Thanks for listening as always and hope you all have a pain free night.

Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead this weekend!

Gentle, tender, springtime angel hugs,

Debs
