Guest guest
My secret starts in the food store. If I don't buy it, I can't eat it!!!!!!! I avoid going down the aisles, which is great for my weary legs. I make a list of what I need and get just that. Most of what I buy comes from the produce department. My son isn't to happy with my new diet I felt guilty at first, but then I have to tell myself that he is 18 and can drive himself to the store and buy any junk he wants!! Besides produce, I eat a lot of grains such as rice, beans, oats, millet and spelt, which I buy in bulk from my health food store. There are times I really crave for sweets, but I grab a piece of fruit and it helps. a [ ] Weight Club / What's your secret? Hi Friends, I wanted to write and pose a question to you all on your losses. What have you found to be your secret in losing these past couple weeks? Let's compare notes! ~Rainy rainysu@... Guest guest
Thank you, a, My idea when I posted this question was to try and do this once a week, ask a question for us to discuss during the week. Like you, I make a list of what I need and buy only what is on my list, unless I see something I forgot to write down, like eggs or something. I also think the same way, don't buy it and I can't eat it, no matter how much I crave it. And I don't have a running car so I can't just hop in and run down to buy that craving. Don't feel guilty about your son, you're right, he can go get it if he wants it. When he gets to be older he'll understand why you changed your diet. I think if you start out when children are young, you can get them on the habit of eating healthy while they are little, same as exercising at a early age. In my opinion, as far as young ones go, it's never too early to start them on the right track. Like turning the TV on to that fitness show and having your little one stand beside you as you do aerobics with the TV people. Guest guest
My secret is that I write down the calories, fat, and protein of everything I consume (if I don't know I estimate, but err on the side of caution). I also have the worst looking fat photo ever taken of me taped on my refrigerator door to remind me why I'm eating healthy. It really works! Every time I've felt like cheating and have seen that picture, it stopped me in my tracks. Have a good Saturday, everyone! Carol in FL Re: [ ] Weight Club / What's your secret?
