There seems to be quite a controversy over this test. Some sites say that

the CA125 test

will be elevated in 80% or woman that have cervical cancer. To me that is a

pretty high number. The problem is that in 20% of cases, it won't be

elevated when there really is cancer.

I knew a woman that went in for an annual physical and they ran this test.

It came out positive. This woman was poked and prodded in every cavity of

her body looking for this cancer. All the tests came out negative. When I

looked up this test, long before the internet and all it's glorious

information, I found that this test wasn't to be given to smokers since it

would be inaccurate. This woman was a heavy smoker. We dismissed the test.

10 years later, she died of cancer.

No it wasn't ovarian.
