Guest guest
Hi Becky, I've had 12 Remicade treatments now. Don't they take your blood at the Remicade clinic? When my nurse puts my IV in she takes my blood and uses the same IV. One needle. I get there about 8 AM and don't leave until about 2 PM. It really exhausts me. I go home and climb into bed and sleep until the next morning. Do you have to see your doctor before you get every infusion? And he has to OK it each time? Hugs, Rainy NW Re: [ ]REMICADE > Hello Tess, Rainy, and lie, > About the time it takes for a Remicade infusion; my experience is it just > takes 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. each time. Guest guest
Hi Rainy, The way this clinic is set up I go the lab on the 2nd floor to have blood taken then back up to the 4th floor to my Rheumy's office/clinic. There either the Dr. or the Nurse Pratictoner comes in and confers with me on my progress or problems since the last treatment, then I go to the room where the treatment is given which is set up for two patients at the same time. The nurse comes and starts my IV. It takes about 4+hrs. from start to finish. They've only been giving Remicade in this clinic for about a year, so I guess they're being very cautious. It does make for a tiring day. be Blessed, Becky
Guest guest
Wow. I am in a room with 7 others getting various treatments. And only two nurses if lucky. Usually we have one doing it all. Another reason why it takes so long. ~Rainy Re: [ ]REMICADE / Becky > Hi Rainy, The way this clinic is set up I go the lab on the 2nd floor to > have blood taken then back up to the 4th floor to my Rheumy's office/clinic. > There either the Dr. or the Nurse Pratictoner comes in and confers with me on > my progress or problems since the last treatment, then I go to the room where > the treatment is given which is set up for two patients at the same time.
