Guest guest
Thanks a. I was already low carbing it for the diabetes--but not THAT low carb. The headaches have passed. Hadn't heard about the low potassium with the Paleo diet before, but will check into it. I have had less pain than ever before, not to say that everything's all well again, but painful spots are becoming less painful. What I've cut out of my diet is dairy and all grains as well as starchy vegetables, i.e. potatoes--I had given up wheat some time ago because I KNEW it caused me problems. My digestive health, which is an ongoing problem, is better too. It wouldn't be easy to stay on this diet indefinitely, but I'm considering it. Welcome Penny. I live just southwest of Portland, in between Hillsboro and Forest Grove. I wonder which firm you work for and what areas of law they practice, if you want to tell me. I worked as a legal secretary for about 12 years before having to stop working due to several medical problems besides RA. And, I have had the OLD form of intestinal bypass, back in 1977, to lose weight. Mindy, I get blotchy red over my especially sore spots too. Hope all are doing okay or better today! lie
Guest guest
lie, We are on almost the complete opposite diet. I gave up all meats, including poultry and am eating mainly grains, fruits and veggies. I should probably go off all grains and see if wheat is a problem for me. I assume it isn't since I was raised on wheat bread, but I should know better. We can become intolerant to something overnight. I'll never forget the year we were canning peaches and my mom ate one to many. Although she ate peaches all her life, she broke out in hives all over her body. After that, she ate peaches very sparingly. According to what I've been reading, 20% of RA patients really have food intolerance. Since our group is 300 members, that means 60 of us can be cured by changing diet. Some estimates go as high as 60% but I feel that is way to high. I'm glad your diet is helping and hope you have continued success. a
