Guest guest
Mindy, I don't know why you wouldn't take painkillers. Sure, they're hard on the body, but not so bad over the short term, until the pain gets under control at least. You REALLY need a doctor who will talk to you and explain things--why they are doing what they are, or not doing anything. You need to know the reason to lessen anxiety. I think most of us can't be admitted to the hospital without the okay of our primary care doctor, but if you go to the ER, that doctor may call your primary, and failing that, at least would prescribe some pain medication. Did you ever stop to think that pain is also VERY hard on the body, as is anxiety? Elly, before we got our Cockapoo puppy, we had adopted 2 mini schnauzers, one after the other. They both died from basically, autoimmune problems--Cushings disease, diabetes, pancreatitis--AWFUL. But oh did we ever love those schnauzers. Purebred dogs are often so inbred that they have lots of predispositions to illness. That's why we got a Cockapoo this time, even though we'd have loved to get another Schnauzer. Your dog's mix sounds perfect to me! The Paleo Diet is also called the caveman or hunter-gatherer diet. The premise is that humanity's diet has changed faster than humanity's ability to evolve to deal with our current diet. So you basically eat only what a hunter-gatherer could find to eat in an average day--meat, non-starchy, non tuberous vegetables, and fruits, maybe a small amount of honey. It is commonly being used to treat autoimmune illnesses because many people find they get some relief. I'm doing well on it after about 2 weeks, have lost some weight and less pain. For more info, try: paleodiet.com a: I've heard a number of people who improve their RA by going vegetarian. I've tried that and it didn't work for me and also it doesn't work out well with my diabetes requirements. But we're all such individuals when it comes to diets. I think it's just great if you are benefitted by eating vegetarian! Lynn, a is right. Don't let the WC maneuvering upset you. I have worked in a WC office as a legal secretary in the past and believe me, it's all a game! You/your doctors say you're hurt; WC says you're not. It WILL work out in the end. Count on your attorney. Everybody get better!! lie
Guest guest
Roz, Yea, my husband and I discussed the pain meds and what I thought about them, he said " don't you think it is better than this " I suppose I will just do what ever it takes.
