Guest guest
Hi Rainy: Lupus has been ruled out. My rheumie suspected it because of the spots/rash, but did some tests and ruled it out. I do see my rheumie at OHSU. My primary care doctor is at an OHSU outreach clinic in Beaverton, about 10 or so miles away from my home. Because I use that clinic, all my referrals are to specialists at OHSU. Right now I am carrying the health insurance I had on my last job, through COBRA. I can only do this, paying my own premiums, for 18 months, which will be in October of this year. If I do get the retirement disability I applied for (should know in a month or so now), I will no longer be eligible for COBRA and I'll have something else--I don't know what. But I think OHSU takes most kinds of coverage, including Mdicare and the Oregon Health Plan. Obviously it doesn't take ALL kinds, since Tess had to change her doctor. Tess, if you live in the Rock Creek area, you're really close to where I live,; you're almost in Hillsboro, if not. --Wow! I thought I had a lot of problems, but you've got me beat. I worked mostly as a legal secretary until May of last year, but I can't say I ever really enjoyed it--it was just a living. I had to quit when I got interocular bleeding due to the combination of a vitrious detachment and some retinopathy in the eye. Also had a cataract in the other eye. After all this time, a vitrectomy and removal of the other cataract, my far vision is great, but my near vision is still a bit of a problem. I still like to read large print books. Thanks for your message! Hope everyone is having a better-than-usual day. I am. lie
