just got a letter from my insurance company. they have decided to terminate

my short term disability as of march 31stit says dr tisa released me to full

duty, and dr capezio records have no thing restricting or limitations that

would prohibit your ability to function in a sedentary position. there is no

objective medical documentation to support your claimed inability to perform

your regular occupation as a benefits asst after feb 28 02. it says they sent

me on the independent medical evaluation and the evaluator finds no reason to

restrict your work or daily activities and states a sedentary position should

be tolerated with frequent position changes allowed. therefore, you doi not

meet the definition of disability as defined by your policy. consequently, no

add'l benifits are payable and we must deny any further liability on your

claim. nice for them to get it to me on saturday afternoon when i can't do

anything!! kathy in il

Kathy,

Call your attorney you can probably appeal the decision or go before a

judge. That doctor did what he was paid to do. Wish the news had been

better, I know how hard it is.

Kathy,

My Mom went through this with a hip injury. They kept denying everything

until she ended up in court. I think that is your next step, too.

Sorry you're having to endure this.

I'm the same way, but there are times when it's a necessary evil. I'll say

prayers of strength for you.
