Guest guest
, sorry about that. Don't want to give anyone heart trouble on top of everything else! Hope that this title is a little less alarming. Yes, I have made calls to my rheumy and the oncologist. The oncologist, no budging as he has been on vacation and he is doing my rheumy a favor, yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah.......Talked to the rheumy and they said that their rx rep just told them about the shortage and the reps suggestion was to tell your patients to just decrease the dose to once a week. Yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah. I only have a week and a half to go and they will keep me supplied in pain medication which doesn't replace the Enbrel. I am sure that the rheumy has some starter kits, but I would rather leave them for people who don't have any other options. I am just going to keep my sites on next Thursday and keep positive thoughts flowing that the Remicade will answer a lot of the pain problems that I am experiencing. Of course, I can't talk about what life is going to be like around here for my family! Another rocky roller coaster ride with Sybil at the control!!!!! LOL. See I can be assertive if I have to!!!!!! Surprises even me sometimes! Thanks for your concern. I still feel bad for the people who have to wait and indefinite period of time to even start the Enbrel. I do believe that this is another example of the pharmaceutical industry needs some drastic regulation. Oh well, that is another topic. Talk to you soon..... Guest guest
Yes this title is less alarming LOL! Debs according to the story I posted (subject line: enbrel shortage explanation) it seems that the FDA is more the problem than Immunex. Why should it take 3 years for the FDA to inspect a building that manufactures medications. I can understand that there is a lot of rules and regulations, but for them to take 3 years sounds pretty unreasonable. I don't know what is worse, being on enbrel and having it work so well and getting it yanked away or waiting to try it for the first time. I hope your waiting isn't to unbearable. a Re: [ ] Enbrel Shortage Victim , sorry about that. Don't want to give anyone heart trouble on top of everything else! Guest guest
My thoughts on this. For the Remicade company, this is good. Because those waiting for their Enbrel are being put on Remicade to try and they may discover that it works better for them and that they like the idea of once every 8 weeks rather than the injections. I never tried Enbrel and had the chance to, but I didn't like the idea of giving myself an injection. Not bcs I am afraid of needles or anything like that. But bcs I am lazy. I don't even like to set up my weekly pill thing. I can see myself putting off giving myself the injection. Now I am glad I shied away from it and then I got lucky and Remicade was released. ~Rainy Re: [ ] Enbrel Shortage Victim > Yes this title is less alarming LOL!
