Guest guest
Power Yoga is difficult. Im sure that you can find a way to incorporate it into BFL. Perhaps just not as frequently. Many of us do take betagen. It helps with weight loss because it speeds up muscle recovery to improve your workouts.
Guest guest
You can still do your power yoga. It may be an adventure when you're sore from weights, but in theory it should actually help soreness by warming and stretching and flexing the muscles and improving circulation. You'll have to experiment to find the days, times, and number of sessions per week that work best. You might find that you start feeling tired and overtrained doing it 4 days per week. There's a balance in there somewhere though. A lot of people do BFL with another activity like martial arts or gymnastics. Here are the symptoms of overtraining so you know what it is you're supposed to be watching out for: Ten Symptoms of Over-Training 1. Impaired physical performance (reduced strength or endurance) 2. Excessive or chronic muscle soreness (lasting longer than 48 hours) 3. Elevated true resting heart rate (taken before getting out of bed) 4. Slowed recovery from exercise (heart rate remains elevated 1 hour after working out) 5. Perception that a normal workout is more difficult 6. Reduced desire or enthusiasm for training 7. Increased number of colds and infections 8. Changes in appetite (usually a reduction) 9. Disruption of sleep patterns (insomnia) 10. Psychological disorders – increased irritability, anxiety and depression Lots of us take Betagen or creatine. Here's a big page of posts and links. http://www.skwigg.com/id53.html It's just a matter of personal preference. It does help tremendously with strength and workout recovery, but it can also make you more prone to dehydration and muscle cramps. Having a leg cramp up in the middle of power yoga might not be cool. Guest guest
Up until this crappy weather took hold, I was doing Bikram¹s yoga twice a week. While the yoga is hard, I think you can do it on your cardio days, so T, TH, S and I do yoga on Sundays. I do the cardio and then I do yoga, or visa versa depending on my schedule.
