But people pronounce it wrong a lot!! -- What is P90X? P90X Stands for a Beachbody.com's 12 week workout program called Power 90 Extreme. They first offered Power 90 and then came up with the Extreme Program. It uses the concept of muscle confusion and instructs using Dvd's. I think there are 12 Dvd's in all. -- What is a " Depo shot " and what is the objective? The Depo shot is a form of Birth Control in shot form. It didn't make me gain weight but I didn't lose either. I had a horrible time on it though. It was like having a constant period for 3 to 6 months. -- What are your stats -- age, height and weight? I am 42 5'6 " ( I really think I was 5'7 " but I think I've lost an inch over the years). And 194lbs -- What is your upcoming meal plan? I'm starting tomorrow Wednesday the 22nd. I'm eliminating pop cause it is a real problem in my life and I'm not talking diet stuff either. I'm not sure I'm going to even have it on my free day cause it is the one thing I have no self control over. Once I start drinking it I can't get back off of it. I know that sounds stupid but it is a real problem. Plus I know it gives me problems with my bladder and I'm almost sure the chronic cough I have is either from pop or from the junkie stuff I eat along with drinking pop (processed foods, chips) And I still drink the stuff!! I'm going to use the BFL Meal papers and start planning out what I'm going to eat. It's going to be a little shaky start cause it's late and I'm starting tomorrow without planning right now. I know I'm going to alternate Oatmeal with Raspberries and an egg plus egg whites for breakfast with on alternative days an egg plus egg whites plus the " weight loss bowl " from Men's Health. It's 3/4 cups Fiber One cereal, 1/4 cup Peanut Butter Captain Crunch and 2 Tablespoons of slivered Almonds, 1/2 to 1 cup skim milk. This has a lot of fiber. I'm just going to try to eat what we have ....mostly try to stick with the six meals, complex carb with protein plus veggies. Plus lots of water. I'm going to try to stick with about 1600 Calories (ideal weight x 12) that I'm going to try to track on fitday and drink lots of water . At least 1/2 my weight in oz. (100 ) and try to get 135 grams of protein per day. I got that protein amount from Buff Mother site. That's why I'm going to track on Fitday for awhile. -- What type of cardio do you do and when and how long? Well so far the first three weeks of my program will have an hour each of Plyometrics and Kenpo X. I do know I'm not going to reward myself with food but I am going to reward myself with money for Consistency on eating clean all day, exercising, drinking water 100 oz, no pop, taking my vitamins, and going to bed by 10:00 P.M. and not focus on how many inches or pounds I lose. Focusing on inches and pounds usually makes me lose motivation when the numbers don't go down fast enough. Consistency in all those areas and the weight and inches should come off. When I have enough I'm going to buy an IPOD. Thanks .... Your interest and questions really made me sit down and think of what I need to do Colleen Marie CzMarie04@... wrote: Hi Colleen My name is Colleen Too! Do you pronounce your name with a short " o " sound or long o sound. Mine is the short " o' sound. Anyway..I have the P90X . I'm new to this board and wasn't sure if talking about other workouts besides BFL was O.K. or not. I started P90X the 1st of March but haven't stuck with it much. It is pretty much above my level of fitness. I have done a round of BFL a long long time ago...I had good results...I was so motivated took the supplements ate a lot better and saw good results but never took my before % percentage body fat but did so afterwards (using the underwater test) and was so disappointed in that percentage that I just lost motivation. The thing is who knows what it was before I started BFL it could have been even higher. So last year I started using Beachbody dvd's. I really liked them..Slim in 6, Slim Series. I didn't see that good of results cause I couldn't get my eating under control and I was taking the Depo shot which now I find out (too late) makes you hold fat. Many people even gain lots of weight on it. But I guess the exercise helped me just maintain that current weight. After the Slim Series...I decided to go back to BFL starting January 1st but I just could not get motivated to do the free weights. I decided I liked DVD's better and went back to the Beachbody products since I've always loved working out with DVD's and love the Firm videos.. That is when I bought P90X. It is really hard. You do so many pull-ups and push-ups...and if you can't do them you use bands. I'm just not to that point yet, I guess. Each workout is a DVD. The first three weeks you do. 1 st day Chest and Back plus a Ab Ripper X which is over 300 hundred crunches in a variety of moves all in one Dvd. 2nd day is all Plyometrics. It's like military basic training with football and basketball conditioning moves. 3rd day is Shoulders, Arms and Ab Ripper X all in one DVD 4th day is and 1 1/2 hours of Yoga. 5th day is Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X on a DVD. 6th day is Kenpo some kind of Martial Arts ( I haven't done that yet.) 7th day is Stretch Dvd or just rest This is the first three weeks Then you do Recovery and Ab focus for a Week 1st Day Yoga 2nd Day Core Synergists Total Body workout that includes cardio, stretching, and resistance. 3rd Kenpo 4th Stretch 5th Core Synergists 6th Yoga 7th Rest Then there is phase two: The first three weeks over again using heavier weights A Recovery week like the above workout. At this time you can add and additional Cardio Dvd that they have and do two a day workouts. There is a 3rd Phase of extreme muscle confusion...If you want me to I can scan any info. you would like. They give you an in-depth Fitness guide plus a nutrition guide. All the DVDs are about an hour long except for the longer Yoga one. I just haven't brought the intensity to it like I should with P90X. I've done the BFL leg workout just using the BFL book and have hardly been able to walk the next day. After doing he leg workout of P90x, I just felt in my lower calf muscles. P90X is for people who hve pretty much already transformed their body and need variety. I'm sure it does works. The transformation pictures are great. But my husband and I still think the BFL transformation pictures are even better. I'm on a Beachbody women's group..but they aren't seeing the results like you guys have. I think it is all in the diet though and that is why I'm over here too to help clean up my diet with all the good info. you guys have to offer.
