Guest guest
Just received this from my niece in Ohio " I read all the info that you sent me, thanks. I called the drug study number and talked to a research assistant. She told me that this is a dmar study for people who have no success with methotrexate and other dmars and that they are testing both the medication and the delivery. This medi-pad is very similar to a computer mouse and sticks on with a large bandage. The medication is given through an infusion needle in the pad. I guess once you attach it to your chest you push a button and the needle inserts into you subcutaneously. It has to be changed every 48 hours I think she said and the meds. are in a filled bladder in this mouse like object. She told me it does show up as a bump under the clothes. With people like me who are not well endowed someone might think I had three breasts or something. How embarrassing! Anyway, you don't take any other dmars like methotrexate with it but you can continue with painkillers like vioxx. It's supposed to take about six weeks before you notice any change. Of course you have to do all the requisite testing like joint counts, blood work, ekg's, and chest x-rays. The initial study lasts three months. It all sounds very complicated, painful and uncomfortable. I think I'll just wait until another type of study comes along and just continue with my current meds. Anyway, thank the people that researched this for me. I appreciate their time. Take care and thanks again. Ruth " Hugs June
