Guest guest
Hello, June. The nutritionist your friend is seeing recommended decaf green tea because it is widely held that caffeinated beverages like tea are diuretics and that they actually cause you to increase urinary output. There are some studies that contradict that though, especially when examining people who regularly consume caffeinated drinks. There are also some nutritionists who claim that even decaffeinated beverages have a diuretic effect. I would guess that you would still be ahead of the game by drinking hot tea as opposed to nothing. The foods you eat can also contribute to your daily water requirement, especially fruits and vegetables. Here are some pretty interesting articles on the topic: http://www.acsh.org/publications/priorities/1302/water.html http://www.cosic.org/caffeine/diuretic.html http://www.tetley.com/corprate/health/caffein.htm If you just can't get excited about water, drink your hot tea and enjoy yourself. There are many good green teas to choose from and they can be served hot or cold. This site is very informative: http://www.leaves.com/ Glad you had fun baking. Lindt chocolates are delicious - this I know from experience. Is the box gone? Well, now I'm hungry for some good chocolate, but I think all I have in the house is chocolate for baking, KitKat bars and M & Ms. Shameful. Oh well, no Lindt, but I can dream. [ ] How green tea may fight inflammation > Hi , I have read a lot about the benefits of green tea and I think I will buy some and try it. My celiac friend had a visit with the nutritionist and was told that drinking decaf tea can count towards your water drinking need. Have you heard this? I am terrible about drinking water but have no problem drinking a lot of hot tea. I wonder if green tea is in the same category? > > I was bored today,so I baked some muffins and cookies, then made some Cavatini to put in the freezer. I decided to take another Percocet and get on the computer but first I opened box of Lindt Swiss DeLuxe chocolates. At this point, I have eaten 7. This is the first chocolate I have had since Christmas. I have a strange feeling this box will be empty by bedtime lol. Of course the entire box is only a total weight of 8.82 ozs. > > I am very happy to see our new members posting,we really do have a great list due to you and a. > > Hugs > June
