Hi there..

it takes a lot to fight a battle…especially when the wars of health take

their tolls upon us also….

there is something I find truly admirable when a person fights for a

principle….

regardless of outcome you fought a mighty battle and won against the bad

guys..

cheers to your fortitude and courage…strength of character and tenacity

when I am sure the fight seemed to take a great toll..

congrats upon your victory…

thankyou for sharing

Sincerely

Sam

Hello everyone:

I have to tell this story because I just have to share it...I will try

to give the condensed version....four years ago I was diagnosed with

spinal problems ....I had worked for the city i lived in for 17 years;

my pain had gotten so bad i had to quit...thought I would take a break

and go back to work...tried part time...couldnt do it...so Social

Security here I came...if anyone had told me what I was about to go

through I would have never believed them...I was told my biggest

problem was my age at the time I was 40...in the next 4 years i was

diagnosed with scleroderma, lupus with brain involvement, fibro, chronic

insomnia,depression,dysphgia,reynauds,bilateral carpal tunnel

surgery that failed and degenerative disc disease. With all this

Social Security denied me....today I had my day in court..it took 15

minutes for a judge to say, I cant believe you had to wait this

long....I am sorry...and you will be back paid to 1998...

So I guess what I am trying to say is never give up ....somewhere out

there is a doctor that knows what he is doing...mine was a rheumy that

wouldnt give up...and even if the wheels work slowly they do work...

even on the days you just want to give up and find that hole to go

crawl in...it will get better, and finally it is not all in your head

and you are not crazy...hugs to you all Kathi in Ok

Kathi, that is such wonderful news! What a shame that you had to go through

such an ordeal to get the benefits you deserved. At least receiving back

benefits to 1998 should be a nice nest egg.

Congratulations, Kathi! Thank you for sharing such happy news with us

and giving others here facing a similar struggle hope.

I wholeheartedly agree with the judge - it's unbelievable that they

would deny you for so long. Bless him and bless you, too!

Hi Kathi,

I am so glad to hear your good news. I have been trying to get ss

for 6 years. I have a court hearing on May 15. Any suggestions, my file

was lost for over 16 months. It has been all over the country. Glad you

can finally put this thing to bed.

Kathi,

Congratulations!!!! I am still a newbie on the SS front, I have just

received my first denial and have secured an attorney for the appeal. What a

horrible process to have to go thru to get something that is ours already!

Have a good, pain free weekend.
