Guest guest
Hi everyone, I saw the neuro yesterday. I worried when they called and got me in right away. I was right. Dr. showed me the MRI pics and they're not pretty. The herniated disc at L3/4 is almost completely pinching off the nerves, which is (of course)causing my back, hip, and leg pain. I am now waiting for the nurse to call me to schedule the surgery for next week. It will be a microdiscotomy. I will stay at the hosp overnight and hopefully be home the next day. He is worried about the pred. and mtx. causing problems with healing and infection. He said the surg has a 95% success rate. I do believe in him. I am actually rather enthusiastic about this because I have high hopes that this will get rid of a lot of pain. Now as I look around my house, which has been let go because of the pain and fatigue, I am a bit overwhelmed. I feel the need to get things done before the surg. because I won't be able to do afterward for awhile. Oh well, whatever gets done, gets done. I'm just not feeling very positive today for some reason. I have decided to just put up with the muscle jerks for now. Its not one of my bigger worries and the last thing that I need is more meds. Must sign off now as there are thunderstorms in the area and getting closer and closer. Thanks for listening. Stacey in PA
