Guest guest
Hi ette, It angers me to hear of drs. who will not acknowledge the pain of their patients. Why do they think that we tell them we are in pain? Its because we want them to help us do something about it. Not just dismiss us. I would call her every hour on the hour until she gives an acceptable response. Remember, she is there to HELP you. Sometimes drs. really don't know the intensity of the pain that we're in so they try to see if you are serious about wanting pain meds. Sorry that this sounds so forceful, but I used to work with drs. who treated their patients with indifference and this just plain makes me mad. I became very close to many of out patients and it hurt me to see them in true pain and the frustration hits very close to home. Guest guest
Hi Stacey, No it doesn't sound forcefull but that's what I'm gonna have to do. I am in so much pain and now it's not only in my hips but now my knees too. I will do what you said but I may just change doctors. Thanks so much, ette -- Re: [ ] Top 200 Prescriptions for 2001 by Number of US Prescriptions... Hi ette, It angers me to hear of drs. who will not acknowledge the pain of their patients. Guest guest
Hi ette, I have to jump in here and say how awful it is that your pain is not being treated adequately. Did you ask specifically for something for pain? When I called my RD this past flare he first gave me prednisone. When that didn' t totally help, he gave me Ultracet. It's a non-narcotic pain reliever although it didn't work completely; it did make my pain more bearable. If you still don't have results with your RD, could you talk to your primary care doctor about it? Maybe he/she could prescribe something. Guest guest
Hi Carol, Thanks for the understanding. It gets so bad It hurts to just sit here and type. I am calling again tomorrow. I called yesterday and they said she was on vacation till Monday, and she has no attending doctor on standby. Can you believe this? I was on naporson (spelling) but I broke out all around my neck and arms with it and it made me sick. She said to stay off that but didn't bother to get something else for the pain. She's the only Rumy out here and I think she gets too crowded in a way that she can't keep up with everybody. I do have a chance to see a different on but the new one is about an hour away where the one I am seeing now is 10 min. away. Take care and I will let you all know how things work out. If I don't get something soon, I don't know what I'll do. Not only am I in pain but I get so depressed. ette -- Re: [ ] Top 200 Prescriptions for 2001 by Number of US Prescriptions...
