Guest guest
Debs, How great you've gotten this resolved!!! I know it's frustrating and unfair, but now you can get the meds you need and schedule your surgery. Hugs, Carol in FL [ ] INSURANCE WOES.............Resolved Well, Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on the phone with them all day yesterday and by 5:00 PM EDT, they could not get the computer to accept my reinstatement! Duh................ So went another night without medication, etc. Fumed about it all night. Woke up at about 5:00 AM with SEVERE stomach pains and signs of internal bleeding. Yikes!!!!!!could it be a littler stress??????? Waiting for the phone to ring, finally had to place a long distance call to Indianapolis (of course, no toll free number) and the associates voice mail said that she would be in meetings all day long. She finally called back at 10:45 AM that ALL benefits had been reinstated including pharmacy. While I was trying to resolve this thing yesterday, she gave me a lecture about how stupid I could be for sending " something as important as insurance premiums to a post office box " !!!!! Well, that is the only address they gave me and I have previously Express Mail my payment via this method in the past and also with other companies. Fed Ex requires a street address, but Express Mail by snail mail just requires a PO box or street address. So she argued with me about who is going to sign for this payment and she had never heard of anything like this. Grrrrrrrrrrr. So now I have my tracking number, my check number and all my documentation and she says well she is waiting a callback from COBRA for them to tell her that they have my check in their hot little hands. Now, according to the Express Mail tracker, they received my check and signed for it on Saturday @ 8:00 AM and this thing was not reinstated until this AM. Well, I guess I should not complain, at least it is all resolved for right now. This is the second time this has happened in the 4 months that I have been on COBRA. I think that once the knee surgery is done, I will just switch over to Ron's insurance as I can get a continuity of care for a certain length of time. Well, next month, probably round 3!!!!!!!!!! Remicade has been rescheduled for Thursday and the plans for surgery are going in a forward motion, I think. I do think I will be calling eligibility prior to going to ANY doctor's appt or anyplace!!!! We, I mean Ron, got our outdoor fireplace up, now I just need to wait for the temperature to go below 90 degrees!!!! It looks great and is just outside my Jacuzzi so it should keep up toasty warm. Well, tonight, the fountain! We took 2/3 of the remaining backyard to make the " little rest spot " , filled it in with wood chips and the dog now thinks that it is his personal potty box, so that will be something for us to work on. If I am not fighting with the insurance company and the doctors, it is the pets........sometimes it seems like the same!!!!!!! Have a pain free evening!!!! Guest guest
Yipee!!! What a relief this is Debs. Sorry you had to go without your medication because of their screw up. I hope it's the last time. Your back yard sounds nice, although I'm quite jealous over your weather We're expecting frost tonight, and all my plants are huge due to the exceptionally mild spring. My hubby is out there covering everything up. Glad everything is now going forward with your remicade and knee surgery. Now if only the dog would co-operate! hugs, a [ ] INSURANCE WOES.............Resolved Well, Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Yes, Debs, finally! I hope they will give you no more trouble. There just has to be a better way. I'm sorry you are wasting so much time and energy on this. I've had a few insurance snafus since the divorce, too. Nothing nearly as dramatic, but what a lot of aggravation and a time-consuming chore! [ ] INSURANCE WOES.............Resolved > Well, > > Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
geez deb, this is horrible. i am so sorry you have had so much trouble. i can not sign my severence agreement. i have already filed a complaint against them as of yesterday. so right now i really feel screwed!!! i survived through my 4 dr appts yesterday even setting up a few more, got an application for section 8 comming also for circuit breaker program. that helps with some select medications. now i have had 3 dr's saying something about peripheral neuropathy. i am going for an emg today at 11:00. also found out my sons script expires. i hope his family dr will refill it. otherwize it runs about $400 a visit to see the psychiatrist. i still owe $100 from last year. i have got the acid thing going (gee, i wonder why) and been serviving on tylenol pm's to get about 5 hrs per night. my back feels bruised from the chiropractor and massage. why do they feel they can push that hump back inside my back!!! ow!!kathy in il
Guest guest
Kathy, I am so sorry that you are having to go thru this. My tummy still hasn't settled down yet and I still can't sleep. I sleep at 2 hour intervals. I am supposed to have a renal us today but I don't know if I am going to be able to make it as my knee is killing me in addition to the tummy trouble. Don't think I want someone pounding on my back right now. I am soooooooo nauseated right now, worse than morning sickness, gotta be the medications. It sounds as though you are really taking action with your present situation. It is like a full time job to just get what you need to survive. When you filed the complaint, did they say anything about your chances? Because I was laid off with other people, I felt that I would not have had much of a case and Ron was not working at the time and his unemployment had run out, so I more or less HAD to sign the agreement. It is a vicious cycle. After the bad publicity that my former employer has gotten recently, I think I was the winner in this situation. I will keep my fingers crossed and send prayers your way to give you strength. Gentle, tender, angel hugs, Debs in FL

Guest guest
CONGRAULATIONS Deb, it's about time. I know how exasperating those companies can be. So, rest up for the fight next month. Hopefully they will be with the program. And don't ya just love how everything is your fault? YOU GO GIRL!!! Judy in Indy
Guest guest
Thanks Judy, Actually, the Rep that I have been talking to at United Healthcare is in Indianapolis. She has been helpful, but with that " YOU DUMB DORA " attitude for going thru the steps that I have. If you saw my last post, you will see that " DUMB DORA " has struck again! Now the doctor's office for the Remicade can't get eligibility to verify! So another long distance call to be told that nothing is wrong. So tomorrow should be full of twists and turns again. Never a dull moment!!!!!!! Have a good evening.... Debs in FL
