Lane,

I'm sorry to read your story. It's especially sad that you've been

dutifully taking care of you husband and have no financial assistance

for yourself when you're feeling so ill.

Can your doctor help you apply for SS? His staff? Could they recommend a

lawyer who could help you?

Here are some links on SSI and SSDI that may help:

http://www.apla.org/apla/benefits/APLA.HTM

http://www.baha.org/ssi/ssihome.shtml

The next link takes you to the Benefit Eligibility Screening Tool (BEST)

which is a tool that you can use to find out if you could be eligible

for benefits from any of the programs Social Security administers:

http://best.ssa.gov

If you would like to tell me what state you are in, I could try to send

you more specific information.

Have you mentioned to your doctor that you're not feeling very good on

the prednisone?
