I have heard of chelation therapy, Kathi. Of course, it's wonderful that

your neighbors' son is doing well no matter what brought about his

better health, but I remain a skeptic of this type of treatment.

Here is an interesting article on chelation therapy at QuackWatch.com

written by Saul Green, Ph.D. who is " a biochemist who did cancer

research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for 23 years. He

consults on scientific methodology and has a special interest in

unproven methods. "

Kathi,

I have heard of it. A doctor that I went to for antibiotics for

rheumatic diseases used it a lot

in his practice. He had a big room filled with people on IV's either

getting IV antibiotics or

chelation therapy. Speaking to a woman in the waiting room, she

explained chelation

therapy and swore by it, but like I am skeptical. I haven't heard

of anyone using chelation

for RA or lupus or for that matter, cancer. I really though it was

only for cleaning the arteries.

Guess I'd better read some more.

Dr. Mark Stengler in La Jolla CA recommended for my son a calcium/magnesium

supplement, as well as B complex, and something called Sepia. He takes the

calcium/magnesium and B complex, but we haven't tried the Sepia. However, it is

a liquid and if is still having a hard time, it is worth looking into.

He is pretty well-known so I don't think it's " quackish " !

That's interesting! We tried that way back, that first year of

OCD. Had to stop it, made 's OCD worse after treatment (LOL,

and it was bad enough already!). We're still waiting (fingers

crossed) to see if inositol will work this time around. I just

added a B-complex for him to take daily to help with inositol. Poor

guy, still can't swallow pills and is chewing the B tablet (yuck!)

Maybe this will be an incentive to *try* to learn to swallow pills!
