Guest guest
I am 51 years old and have had RA for 15 years, I am lucking one respect, I have very little damage. I have tried plaquinel (which worked for awhile), Gold shots (hated them) didn't work at all then they put me on methotrexate oral med., worked great for awhile, then started backing off of the upped my dose to 30mg, no differents. Next they added sulfazaladine(sp) no difference, went to methotrexate injections, no difference, then Enbrel, Arava (helped my hands somewhat), then Remicade, Feb. and Mar. we tried Kineret, still no change. I am back on 27mg of methotrexate injections, to soon to tell. What I would like to know is if this is common, I don't have trouble with the side affects but they just don't work. I really feel like a whiner because I look healthy, no deformaties yet. I guess I would like to know if there are others out there like me. No deformaties don't make it less painful and although they say I am still pretty flexible there are alot of things I used to be able to do that I can't now. It is really frustrating. I even told my doctor " ok I know what it is like to have Arthritis now make it go away. " Wouldn't that be nice.
