Oh Tess,

I am SO sorry about your INSURANCE WOES. What stupid excuse did they give

for denying the surgery. Was it the one pre op day or was it the entire

surgery. When I was working for the insurance company, I was the BAD person

who put thru the approvals or denials on medical procedures. A pre op day

was usually pretty tough to get approved but with the clinical documentation

we would present this to the the medical directors and then if they had any

questions, they would contact the surgeon directly and slug it out from

there. As far as the surgery portion is concerned, unless it was a policy

exclusion, which I find that would be almost impossible that a T & A would

be, it went thru without any further clinicals or medical director approval.

Something doesn't sound quite right here. At least your doctor's office is

willing to go to bat for you. Do they know how long the appeal is going to

take?

Believe me, sweetie, I KNOW what you are going thru. You get yourself all

psyched up mentally for these procedures only to have some stranger say, " I

don't think so " .

I am going to say extra prayers for you tonight and yes, KEEP YOUR CHIN

UP!!!!!!

Yesterday was my oldest daughters 21st birthday and we went out for dinner

and I didn't feel well all day and things didn't get any better at the

restaurant, but I didn't want to disappoint her. I was waiting all day for

two doctors offices call back with the OK for refills on pain medication and

muscle relaxants. They both finally called about 4:30 PM and said yes, they

were OK. After we got back from the restaurant, my knee started killing me

and I couldn't fall asleep because of the pain. I finally dozed off about

1:30 AM and here I am up at 3:30 AM in more pain than when I went to bed plus

I am having a really bad asthma attack. Just got off the nebulizer machine.

If things don't improve within a few real fast minutes, we are off to the ER.

Hang in there, my friend, prayers, love and good wishes are being sent your

way. Please keep us updated.

Gentle, tender, insurance sucks, angel hugs,

Debs in FL

I'm concerned, too, Debs. Please let us know if you had to go to the ER.

Tess, I know you are probably very disappointed and frustrated right

now, but a carefully done appeal can work. I'm glad the ENT is on top of

it. We've got to hope for the best.

Can any one of your doctors help you more effectively with your pain

until the surgery can be done?

Kathi,

My husband ordered some for me, and although it doesn't totally eradicate my

pain, it certainly helps it more than anything else has! I was thinking of

mentioning it just the other day.

I'm purchasing some for my mom, as well. $40 is a lot for a topical cream,

but it sure beats being in pain.

Hugs,

Carol in FL

Hi All,

Thank you all for your expressions of concern. I did another nebulizer

treatment last night and it finally kicked in. I have slept most of the day.

Not being able to breathe is both painful and exerting. The pulmonologist

has increased my inhaler and that seems to help. Wish I knew what triggered

the attack.

Hope you all have a pain free evening. Looking forward to mine being quiet!

Talk to all soon.
