Guest guest
You know infections could help in doing the damage. I tend to think we have an auto-immune problem that gets out of hand. Has anyone heard of someone with an excellent immune system getting arthritis? Now I can only go with my family history, but the ones who hardly got a cold, had normal childhood diseases, things like that, don't have arthritis. The ones who catch everything, have arthritis. DH can't catch poison ivy, much less a cold.....OOOps, forgot the cold 2 years ago, but then again he is getting older (55), never had an ache or pain till he had an accident at work that nearly killed him. Since then he catches colds, gets the flu (even with the flu shot) and the bones are starting to creak. I wonder if his immune system has been compromised because of the accident. BTW in his family, no one starts showing any health problems till they are in their 70's. Let's not forget stress!!! That can run havoc on the immune system and anyone who says that they have no stress in their lifes, doesn't live on this planet. Guess what I am saying is that there are alot of triggers out there and it just depends on how good a persons' immune system is. Now look at that! I have smoke comming out of my ears! Monday morning and I am thinking too hard! LOL Actually, been off the heavy duty meds for nearly a day and I can think again! Yeah!! Although they say genetics play >a major role, they also know that many with no genetic links suffer as >well. I just pray that we get answers and most of all, a cure. No one in my family has a history of arthritis. I'm apparently the anomaly. I have always blamed it on stress (my sister and I have been in and out of court for 4 years trying to settle our mother's probate, with our brother doing everything he can to obstruct and take over.) But I also wonder about the infection aspect. Haven't I read that there is a suspicion that infections can trigger arthritis. Everyone I know ends ups with sundry infections. Seems plausible to me. Guest guest
I¹d like to bottle the part that keeps me from getting colds and infections, but Ditch the part that is eating my joints!!! My joints are not deformed either and I¹ve had RA for over 20 years. One day the scientists will unlock the secrets of the immune system. We have to keep hoping and dreaming. It gives me the strength to overcome many hardships. a On 5/20/02 2:23 PM, " grannyfellx6 " <grannyfellx6@...> wrote: > a, Wouldn't it be nice if we could bottle your immune system and > share with everyone.
