Guest guest
Hi , This is and I also have two of the spondylarthropy diseases, AS and Reiter's Syndrome. Regarding your post on the list, here are a few of my experiences: 1) AS is a form of arthritis that affects the spine and vertabrae. 2) Reiter's Syndrome is a form of arthritis where the catalyst is an infection. For me it was a case of uvitis (which looks like pink). Also, Reiter's Syndrome (also called Reactive Arthritis - RAA) affects one side of the body at a time. For me, it's my left. 3) RA can be diagnosed through a blood test with the rheumatoid factor. However, testing negative doesn't mean you don't have RA. My diseases are characterized as severe inflammatory arthritis, non-rheumatoid. Several of my doctors have told me that I can still test postive for the rheumatoid factor in the future. This is probably all very confusing. Feel free to email me at sdenicola@... if you have other questions. Take care, DeNicola __________________________________________________
Guest guest
thank you for all this helpful info. I am sorry to hear you have this. And you are right - it is all very confusing. I get nervous when I read about all the different medications people are talking about and I dont have a clue. But I havent even seen my rheumatologist yet so I need to wait & see what my path is and learn from all of you as I go. Thank so much.
