I have not been diagnosed with this disease, but it sounds like exactly the problem I have had with my eyes for about 15 years. I have complained to my family about the " ropey " strands in my eyes and the sandy, gritty feeling for years. Several docs over the years have said they thought it was " pink eye " which I've also had, and this isn't pinkeye. I am going to ask my doc about this during my visit next week and find out if there is anything that can be done to ease it a little bit. Thanks, Alice
