Guest guest
Hi All, Well, I think I may have broken or cracked my knee cap again for further this evening. Once again, it happened while using the commode. The pain started to feel like a shard of glass again in the exact same spot. I remember that after the surgery he told me that the fracture was still there, he just filed down the edges and made sure that that area was not touching anything to cause any pain. On my first post op visit, I told him that he fixed whatever was wrong there from the fracture as there was NO pain at all. He was really happy to hear this because he wasn't sure that he had shave enough bone off to take care of the pain as he was kinda working blindly as I did not want to be cut. He also said that when he did the shaving of the bone, it was done with the arthroscope and therefore the picture was distorted due to the fluid that is injected during the procedure. He said that he would have had an entirely different picture if he had look straight on to it as opposed thru the fluid. The only pain that I was experiencing was from the lateral release that he did so that this would (or should) not happen again. For three blissful weeks, I had no shard of glass pain in that right knee and now this evening.....wham! I started screaming again and the pain is searing. Ron says that we should go to the ER for an x-ray, heck, I don't even know how I can tell the ortho that this has happened again. My theory is just to live with it seeing how it isn't a malignant condition. I am more embarrassed than everything. I took some pain pills and they have done nothing for this new pain. I just can't believe it!!!!!!! On another note, I posted my situation with these blood tests to another site that I belong to and was told that these scopes never show anything and all they end up doing is giving you more iron anyway. My point is, these scopes are not very pleasant and if they never disclose any real information, why bother and go thru the hassle. Plus it doesn't really change your course of treatment. I think I will just leave things the way they are. Well, it will be a busy Friday.....my youngest, goes on a school trip to Islands of Adventure, leaving at 5:30 am and not returning until 10:00 pm; and then for some reason I slept all day today, so I need to go to the rheumy office and get my prescriptions and do a lot of little piddly jobs. Ron is on deadline so he will be buried at work and then in the evening we are supposed to go out for dinner with our very very dear friends. Still making Ron finish that backyard project. He is almost there and should be completed this weekend. Hope everyone has a great evening, restful and pain free sleep. Gentle, tender, angel hugs, Debs in FL
