Guest guest
My Dear Tess, No, no, no long johns will never do!!!!! These jammies are supposed to make you LOOK good, not just be practical!!! It is time for a new image, my dear! Glad to hear that you got your pre op rx questions answered finally. My ortho did say that in addition to my platelet situation causing the bleeding, the fact that I take prednisone did not help the situation. My nephrologist had me stop taking Celebrex and my kidney medications, but allowed me the MTX, Remicade and prednisone. While I was in the pre op room, he did order a rather large dose of solu cortef(solu medrol) to be given IV to " cover me " . This was done in addition to my diabetes medication and a breathing treatment that had been ordered by my nephrologist. With me, gotta get there early! Gads, I hate surgery. Now for the reason I am still up. I think I have re-fractured or cracked further that same knee cap. Once this again happened while using the commode. I felt that same type of pain and now feel, once again, like there is a shard of glass sitting in the knee. I just can't believe it. I had NO pain in that site for three weeks and I was so proud of my surgeon. He did say that he wasn't sure that he had shaved off enough bone, but with my results it seemed perfect. He also mentioned that his vision was clouded because this was all done thru the arthroscope and not an open procedure, which I kinda told him to do only as a last resort. When you use the arthroscope, the vision field is different because of the fluids used to stretch the area. He would have done things a little differently if he had a direct view of the patella. I am so embarrassed right now and don't even know how to tell the ortho. Ron wants to take me to the ER, but I am just way to embarrassed. I think that I will just try to live with it like this. The pain pills that he gave me for the post op pain are just not even touching this new pain. Aaarrrrrrgggggggghhhhhh, I hate this! OK, kiddo, I am going to be on the look out for something " appropriate " for your upcoming hospital stay. NO long johns! I WILL have someone check your suitcase prior to going to the hospital. You KNOW my candle will be burning bright that day for successful and safe surgery and a fast recovery. I will talk to you soon, my friend. Try to have a good evening.
