Guest guest
Hi Suzanne, I am sure that is what it is. I just know that for the past 24 years that we have lived in FL, this program has been in existence. I wasn't too familiar with it until I worked for the hospital district. I " assumed " that the property tax money was just one of those things that went to pay for the " fat cat " salaries and all the new additions that were being built. Boy, was I WRONG. Moral of the story is, one should not " assume " anything until you know what you are talking about. Learn something new each and every day! Thinking about it actually, we have the United Way and the hospital district assistance which is really a God send for those that need the services. Our North hospital district provides us with two (2) trauma centers, one of which is a level one trauma center. When I was having my children, my OB doctor said that that was the only hospital that he would deliver at. I, of course, had a fit..... " I am not delivering at no county hospital " . Well, the doctor won and as far as hospital experience was more than I expected. I had a private room, which was nice, but the best thing was that my oldest daughter was born with a congenital heart defect. It was actually the nurses who picked it up and even upon discharge, the pediatrician's could not detect it when we were discharged. Because of the nurses there, my daughter had treatment from the second day of life, had her corrective surgery and has just celebrated her 21st birthday. So I should be the LAST one to complain about the hospital district! Shame on me!!!! Hope your weather changes Suzanne, we are pretty soggy here in Southeast FL. Been raining all morning and it is just plain gloomy outside. A good day to stay in bed with some good old movies and an afghan! Gentle, tender, angel hugs, Debs in FL
