Guest guest
A person I had not seen for a while greeted me with " You look so thin. Are you sick? " . I chuckled and replied that my weight had been fairly steady for the last three years. With a BMI around 23, I am not particularly skinny, but compared to other people my age, I look thin. CR really changes your life. At a recent gathering, I noticed how much more people eat than I do. It seems like a long time ago, but I seem to remember that I ate like that at one time. I no longer buy or eat junk food. The only junk food at home is one box of chocolates with hydrogenated fats that someone brought as a gift not long ago, and which I put out for guests who don't watch what they eat. What is surprising to me is that I am not tempted by the sweets and pastries that I used to love, and when I taste them, a forkful will do. Today, I would not consider eating a whole slice of cake with all its frosting. Knowledge about food certainly changes your perceptions about it. Guest guest
Hi there. I get the same comments from family and friends. My BMI is 19.8. But i am all muscle because i resistance train frequently. But still they say " There is nothing left of you. What will you do if you get sick? " (I don't even know what that really means??) Oh well, I feel great! I've noticed similar changes in eating habits and preferences over time, amazes me that food " likes " and " dislikes " can be modified given enough time. My weaknesses were along the lines of " chips " , french fries and bacon. Never much of a sweet-eater I'd swap my desert, usually a pastry of some sort, for another " bologna " sandwich during school lunches. But now a peach or strawberry is sooooo much more succulent soo much more tasty than a french fry. All those fried foods or " meats " taste so " oily " or " greasy " now to me. yecch. May I ask what do you eat these days? Is your diet total " lowfat " or more along lines of Mediterranean? Or smthg else? How much protein do you think we should consume? bill4cr > > A person I had not seen for a while greeted me with " You look so thin. > Are you sick? " . Guest guest
Hi All! Bill I totally agree with you, I've got so used to my low fat food (I cook myself most of my meals) taht everytime I eat out I just fell the fat. I don't know how to explain the sensation, it is " greasy " especially fat on vegetables, it totally changes the taste, everything becames the same fat taste. And I can also smell it, and I can smell junk/processed food in other people, especially on toiletes. And a word about sweet things, do you feel that, after a while eating basically nothing with sugar, any sweet becames way too sweet? Like something you cant stand? Disclosure: I am new to CR, 5 days to be exact, but for 1,5 years I don't eat anything that my grand grand mother wouldn't recognize as food, or anything processed. > > > > A person I had not seen for a while greeted me with " You look so thin. > > Are you sick?
