Guest guest
a little not on ... Taubes has made himself a name by being controversial. Years ago he wrote an article saying salt had absolutely nothing to do with HTN. About 6 years ago he made the front page of the Sunday NY Times color section with his infamous Does Fat Make You Fat? cover and article " what if its all been a big fat lie " . While it generated lots of media attention, one week later Sally Squires wrote a rebuttal in the Washington Post interviewing all the experts used in his article and they all said he took their intformation out of context and misrepresented it and left out parts that invalidated his theories from their interviews. But, as we all know, people like to hear good news about their bad habits so Sally Squires rebutall faded from attention and Taubes article is quoted (MISquoting experts) to this day. Its all a Woody movie now. jeff
Guest guest
Re: Larry King:Diet Debate Posted by: " Jeff Novick " chefjeff40@... chefjeff40 Sun Oct 21, 2007 10:08 am (PST) and here is the CSPI rebuttal to the G Taubes article Here is another response by Micheal Fumento from Reason magazine http://www.reason.com/news/show/28714.html ---------------------- All By the way, I don't know if you noticed, but when you read the article in reason.com, there is a funny article of the Presidential Body Mass Index, that includes a chart of the BMI of presidents of the US in history. Of the recent presidents, Jimmy was on the lower end of BMI.
