I, and many members of my family, naturally have blood pressure on the

low side and I experience both leg cramps and postural hypotension if I

don't watch my sodium to ensure adequate intake. Let me emphasize,

however, that adding sodium to your diet should always be done in

cooperation with your doctor. You want to be clear that there are no

other electrolyte imbalances in play and that your blood pressure is

monitored over time. Sodium is extremely easy to overconsume.

And personally, I prefer a can of V-8 juice which clocks in at 930 mg

of sodium, tastes better than salt water and provides potassium,

lycopene and other nutritional benefits.
