Guest guest
Hi : This paper is interesting for the following reason. It found that in post-menopausal normo-tensive females the soy nuts reduced SBP by 4·5% and DBP by 3·0%. First, I wonder if the same would apply to soy protein concentrate? Second, would it also apply to people with BP of 100/60? If it does then, because the higher SBP number is reduced by a larger percentage than the lower DBP number, the result would be an appreciable improvement in PULSE PRESSURE (PP)! These data if applied to people with BP of 100/60 result in a 2·7 point reduction in PP. Almost worth trying the experiment on myself! I am trying to get my 21-day moving average PP down to 35, from the current 39·x.
