I believe he may be expecting medicine to master the mechanisms of cellular decay and repair making his particular eating or exercise behavior less important. This is a fair supposition except for assuming they will do it quickly, and that when we understand it we can control it. Scientists also predicted we'd be flying around with personal jet packs and everybody would use video phones by now.
