Hi

My son is in 7th grade and the school is looking at different software to

help with his reading math and such. He already has co-writer for helping him

write.

They are suggesting stuff from intellitools.com. I have heard others mention

some Edmark programs.

He reads on an upper first grade level. Can add numbers up to 10 and count to

100. He has no understanding of money except quarters are for pinball LOL he

has his prioities.

Help before Friday LOL no rush(not). We have a planning meeting and I have an

educational advocate(YES!!!!!!) The team meeting will be set up after that.

The Edmark Reading program is a great program. Mav has been using it for

several years. Right now he is reading at a mid first grade level. He will

be able to use this program for years. He just started the spelling aspect

of it this year and is doing pretty good on it. It goes slowly and is

repetitive. It also has worksheets and little booklets that go with it for

homework and review.

has this incredible program called " Gus Goes to Cyberopolis. " It is

from Modern Media Ventures and they have a toll free number 1-800-530-5080.

This is a couple of years old, so I hope it's still good. This program has

science with animal videos that you click on and the animals move and it

tells about them. It has a diner with geography pictures that you click on

and it takes you all around the world. The diner also has foods and table

items in several languages. The subway has a recycling game (matching

items). The library has books you click on for different subjects, etc. It

is amazing. We bought it from a school book thing for $4.95. I'm sure it's

a little more expensive now. It has everything though and is about the

level you are looking for and completely mouseable (is that a word, LOL).

It is an entire curriculum unto itself. The music and cartoon graphics

tickle pink. Now that this has become a Russian novel, just check

this one out.

The only specific program that Dr. G recommended for my kids was

" Earobics " ---

otherwise, he recommended that they engage in strong academic programs that

they enjoy---we've had success with Mighty Math (Edmark), Reader Rabbit (The

Learning Company), Jumpstart Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade etc., Reading

Blaster. Most of these you can find at Walmart, and Office Depot

Last year, we tried the 30-day free trial of Kidspiration, the younger

version for kids up to 5th grade functioning level, but only used it a few

times. I

found it kind of cumbersome and a bit confusing to work with and Curt didn't

like it. However, I was looking for something to promote more expansive

thinking and organizing thoughts at the time -- which this didn't seem to do in

the

way I was wanting it to -- and not a writing program which this seemed to be

more geared towards.

I'm interested to know what you think about Inspiration. I'm assuming you

have an older child who is functioning at a fairly high level conceptually?

Please let me know once you've had a chance to try it out.

Also, Dr. G has suggested we see Dr. Stilton as well. Have you found her to

be helpful? I'd appreciate any info you would be willing to share on or off

list.

Hey,

I bailed on Medisoft and have been much happier with Chirotouch. I especially like the "posting" done when I am in a room seing a patient in live time. No more route slips to the front desk, later posting, etc.

I have used Eclipse with only minor problems for years. The staff likes it and new employees learn quickly. I owned a clinic for a short time that used Medisoft, and staff that worked in both places hated Medisoft and worked well with Eclipse. Contact me offline for a reference. Dr Ron Johansen,Portland

I still would like to know more docs with large practices and multiple

doctors that are satisfied with eclipse software. We are having a terrible

time with our software and I don't see an end in sight. I would like hear

from new users and docs with a long history.

Dr Pedersen may I also contact you off line for specifics?

I have used Eclipse for 11 years. Very impressive program. It does far

And to coattail off that email, is it a total reconfiguration of the HCFA/CMS form? Or can I still get by with my Lytec 2000? We're a small office, and it has served us well thus far.

p.s. I love how Tommy revolutionized the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Instead of CMMS, it's just CMS. So he trimmed an "M". Good job cutting government waste, Tommy!

Hi All,

The time has come for me to upgrade my 8 year old billing software for the new HCFAs with NPI. Calling around gave me sticker shock and I haven't found any computer-idiot-friendly software yet under $2,000.

Are there any products out there you folks are using that is user friendly, has the new Medicare requirements and doesn't cost two weeks earnings?

I'll take any suggestion.

Thanks

We're Lytec users, and are dealing with this issue as well...

My understanding is that Lytec 2000 WON'T print the new HCFA's... So, you have to at least upgrade to Lytec 2006. BUT, if you don't upgrade to Lytec 2006 ($1,795.00) by this Friday (again, this is our understanding), then you have to buy Lytec 2007. BUT...your old data files from Lytec 2000 WON'T transferable to Lytec 2007... So, (again, our understanding) is that you have to upgrade to Lytec 2006 by this Friday, or lose all your data files...this is what WE were told by Lytec (and we're not very happy :)

I have been looking at Chiro 8000! It's less expensive than the Lytec upgrade, and actually looks like a better layout to me... But, we haven't made any final decisions!

Hello everyone.

I have been practicing CR for about a year on my own, reading as much as I can,

and keeping

detailed paper records. However I know that a lot of you use computer software

to keep track

of your nutrition. What software is is, and where can I find it.

Thanks

: please read all the literature sent to you upon joining. If you do

you will find the answer to this queston and many other newbie questions.

The information about software is in our files, which we have for reference

and for new members so that we don't have to answer such questions over and

over.

I use Cron-o-meter, although I am by no means a croner. It is free and

Mac usable. Google it for the address. I like the program and I have

found it helpful in many ways. For example I am clearly not getting

enough Vit D. Other programs do more but this one is free.
